For those of us using Mac OS X and not willing to wait until OS 10.5 “Leopard” for virtual desktops for our Macs, thanks to Lifehacker today I learned about Virtue Desktops. Virtue Desktops is a virtual desktop simulator for the Macintosh, allowing you to create, organize, and use multiple virtual desktops inside Mac OS X.

Virtue Desktops claims to work well with Expose, not clutter up your desktop with toolbars or utilities, and gives you virtually unlimited virtual desktops with which to organize your work. The application is a Universal Binary, offers custom desktops for the different virtual desktops (a nice feature!), and different transitions to smooth you from desktop to desktop. I think I’m going to have to give this one a try myself.
